Wicop LED Launch by Seoul Semiconductor

Posted on April 26, 2017 Michael Rodriguez Electronics

Seoul Semiconductor is launching their Wicop LED reference designs by offering module solutions that will allow their customers to realize their solutions much faster than by just using LED components. CEO of Seoul Semiconductor Europe, Andreas Weisl believes that their module solutions also will benefit their customers by letting them evaluate the technology quickly in order to reap the benefits almost instantaneously.

Wicop Y19 module features four clusters of 2x2 LEDs while the Y22 and Y22P modules come with four single LEDs each. The Y19 also has a combined typical flux of 4,650 lumens in contrast to the 1,268 lumens for the Y22/Y22P.

All feature a CRI or Color Rendering Index of 70 and a CCT or Correlated Color Temperature of 4K. Each modules are tailored made to address common customer needs while defining location and pitch of LEDs, position and size of alignment holes for optical lenses.

Featuring standard power connectors and ease of assembly/usage, these boards have luminous efficiency up to lm/W at 350 mA and are well-suited to be used as light-source applications for architectural spaces like warehouses or productions sites in densely industrial areas. They can also be used outdoors for street lighting, lighting in harbors, tunnels, railway stations with the new Wilma lens-array from LEDiL.
